Power Tools - DEWALT® Introduces New Infrared Thermometer as Part of the 12 Volt MAX* Lithium Ion System
TOWSON, Md. (June 24, 2010) – D
EWALT announces the launch of its 12 Volt MAX* Lithium Ion Infrared (IR) Thermometer Kit (
DCT414S1) as part of its new 12 Volt MAX* cordless platform. The IR thermometer is ideal for electricians, plumbers, remodelers and HVAC contractors who are tasked with scanning for temperature changes on the jobsite and locating potential trouble spots.
“Our new IR thermometer incorporates industry-leading innovations driven by professional contractors’ needs,” said Mendy Johnson, Product Manager, D
EWALT. “After using the tool, users were impressed by how much time the LED spot indicator, saved them when scanning for temperature changes or troubled spots. An additional benefit, the IR thermometer is part of the new 12 Volt MAX* cordless platform and utilizes the same rechargeable lithium-ion battery that powers the other six 12 Volt MAX* tools professionals use every day.”
In addition to the patent-pending LED hot (red) and cold (blue) spot indicator to quickly locate temperature changes, the
DCT414S1 also provides audio alarms to alert contractors in noisy work conditions. The IR thermometer measures temperatures from negative 20 degrees Fahrenheit to 932 degrees Fahrenheit.
The thermometer records maximum/minimum and average temperatures and features a bright green backlit display for easy-to-read recordings. With adjustable emissivity, the thermometer offers accuracy across a wide range of materials.
The IR thermometer incorporates D
EWALT-designed electronics that are built in the switches of all 12 Volt MAX* tools, instruments and lights. These electronics provide maximum life for the tools and batteries by protecting them from overheating, overloading and deep discharge during use.
The new IR Thermometer Kit (
DCT414S1), which includes an infrared thermometer, 12 Volt MAX* Lithium Ion battery, a 40 minute charger and a kit box, will be available in the fourth quarter at home centers and industrial distributors. The IR thermometer kit is expected to retail for approximately $149.00 and will come with a three-year limited warranty, one year free service contract and 90-day money back guarantee.
