Power Tools - DEWALT® Launches Inspection Camera as Part of the New 12 Volt MAX* Lithium Ion System

TOWSON, Md. (June 24, 2010) – DEWALT announced today the launch of a 12 Volt MAX* Lithium Ion Inspection Camera Kit ( DCT410S1) as part of its new 12 Volt MAX* cordless platform. The inspection camera is ideal for plumbers, remodelers, electricians, installers and maintenance workers who need increased visibility and the ability to capture videos and/or photos in tight and awkward spaces such as behind walls or insides pipes.

“When researching this product on jobsites, we found many user frustrations with viewing the screen on their existing inspection cameras,” said Mendy Johnson, Product Manager, DEWALT. “For instance, users would spend significant time making sure their camera was properly positioned, but they would then have to move the camera to view the screen. Our inspection camera features a cordless, removable LCD screen that allows contractors to view the area they are inspecting quickly and accurately, improving overall productivity.”

The inspection camera features a wireless 3.5-inch LCD screen that is removable to provide visibility in tight areas. With a waterproof, three-foot cable and the ability to instantly capture videos and photos, the camera offers the features needed to maximize productivity on the jobsite.

The camera includes hook and magnet tools to aid in retrieval of objects. Additionally, the camera offers increased visibility with a 3x zoom capability.

The inspection camera incorporates DEWALT-designed electronics that are built in the switches of all 12 Volt MAX* tools, instruments and lights. These electronics provide maximum life for the tools and batteries by protecting them from overheating, overloading and deep discharge during use.

The new Inspection Camera Kit ( DCT410S1), which includes an inspection camera, 12 Volt MAX* Lithium Ion battery, a 40 minute charger, hook, magnet and kit box, will be available in stores in fourth quarter at Industrial Distributors. The inspection camera is expected to retail for approximately $299.00. The product will come with a three-year limited warranty, one year free service contract and 90-day money-back guarantee.
