Accessories - DEWALT LAUNCHES NEW LINE OF PRECISION TRIM SAW BLADES


June 2009 – DEWALT, a leading manufacturer of industrial power tools and accessories announced the launch of new Precision Trim blades for use with miter saws and table saws (DW7119PT, DW3219PT, DW7296PT, DW72100PT). The new Precision Trim saw blades, available in June, are ideal for high-end trim work including moldings, staircases, cabinets, windows, flooring, hand railings, and additional crosscutting and ripping applications in premium materials. The Precision Trim line includes 8 ½”, 10” and 12” saw blades, all of which come with a limited lifetime warranty.

ACCURACY
For optimal accuracy, DEWALT designed the Precision Trim saw blades with a thin kerf, laser-cut hardened steel plate, which allows for fast, smooth cutting with minimal material waste. The laser-cut expansion slots, along with the harmonic slots, both cut into the body of the blade, help dampen vibration providing a more accurate finish. Additionally, this optimized plate design helps to eliminate blade flex. DEWALT testing found that when making miter cuts in white maple, its Precision Trim blades are 50 percent more accurate than competitors.

SURFACE FINISH
The DEWALT Precision Trim blades are designed with 30 percent more carbide than the leading competitor, which allows users to re-sharpen the blade multiple times. Additionally, CNC grinding helps to ensure uniformity in the tooth grind and improves the overall finish. The Precision Trim saw blades are also protected with an exclusive Tough Coat™ saw blade anti-stick coating, which extends blade life, reduces heat and friction, and allows users to make faster and cleaner cuts.

TEAR-OUT
As a way to drastically reduce splintering and tear-out when cutting premium types of wood, the blades are equipped with ultra-sharp carbide tips. Optimized grind angles also help to reduce tear out and lower the cutting force. DEWALT testing found that splintering is reduced by 30 percent when cross cutting birch-faced plywood.
