I bought this chalk box in the morning. It made it about ten minutes on the job site. The box was loaded with dewalt chalk and was pulled once. The "durable helical gears" are cheap plastic gears and stripped within the first foot of retrieval. I'd really like to see the gearing be switched to steel before I consider buying this again.
Pros: Large capacity
Cons: Leaks chalk everywhere. Cheap plastic gearing. Line will not retract
Got this to chalk roofs for solar snapped one line reeled it back up ten feet then grinding gears stripped the teeth right off the plastic gears kinda stupid to have plastic gears on a heavy duty tool second one broken too
