I just bought the 20v impact/compact hammer drill kit and I want to know why they don't sell this as a "tool only". I didn't have the money right now for the big kit but I am looking to add to my kit as the years go by so it's unfortunate that I would have to get the extra batteries (which I would need at some point anyway) and charger. I'll probably end up buying a plug in saw for this reason alone. As far as the saw goes....
Awesome. I've used my friends and it is by far the best cordless sawsall I've used.
Bought at Candian Tire, little on the pricey side compared to other stores online, as couldn't wait for it to go on sale and given it only comes with one battery. Buy a second battery right away. Dewalt should provide a mail in rebate for the second battery since they do not included it in the kit.
Pros: Great tool
Cons: Came with only one battery. Have to now buy 2nd as when first is gone need to wait till it is recharged to continue working.
I think this tool is going to work for me a long time. The charging unit and the batteries have been "slicked up" and are now up to date. Should keep us going for a while now.
I plan on getting the compact hammerdrill to.
Pros: Light yet powerful
Cons: none so far except 2 batteries would have been nice.
I had been wanting to get a cordless recip saw for years but felt the 18v was too heavy and unbalanced. This is what I have been waiting for. And 2 days after I bought it, we experienced a 6+ hour power outage but I was able to contiue working, using this saw to do some rough jigsaw work. It's all good!
