December 2003 – DeWALT
has introduced a versatile 4-1/2-inch cordless cut-off and grinding tool powered
by the company’s 18-volt battery system.
The new high-powered DC410KA cut-off tool produces 350 maximum-watts-out
and is designed
for maintenance crews, mechanical contractors, concrete formers, iron workers, glaziers,
commercial floor installers, boat mechanics, highway workers and other professionals
who want cordless versatility for punch-list cutting and grinding work.
The DC410KA is ideal for typical
cut-off and grinding applications, including:
-
Metal cutting – 1/4” to 3/4” rebar,
1/2” threaded rod, and 1/2” to 3/4” high-stress bolts
-
Transportation and highway work - grinding
and cleaning rails, cutting bolts
-
Mechanical contractors – cutting drains
in metal roofing – building rehab
-
Exterior trim installation – cutting
excess PVC/fiberglass reinforced trim already in place
-
Commercial floor installation - cutting
floor lines with diamond cutting wheel
-
MRO and manufacturing – cutting bolts
to quickly change or move production line
-
Glaziers – cutting 1/4” bolts on window
plates
-
Any cut-off or grinding punch-list
job that previously required a cord or a generator
For durability,
the tool’s metal gear case dissipates heat away from the bearings, gears and motor.
Sealed ball bearings in the motor add longevity.
For convenience, the DC410KA has a universal
flange, keyless guard adjustment, and spindle lock so users can change wheels quickly
and easily. The
trigger switch and lock-off button allow for easier gripping, while a three-position
side handle provides better control during surface and edge cutting.
The DC410KA cordless cut-off tool comes with two 18V XR+™ PACK batteries,
one-hour battery charger, three-position side handle, cutting guard, grinding guard,
DW8062 cutting wheel, DW4515 grinding wheel, wrench, backing flange, and a heavy-duty
kit box.
