2000 was the first year that DEWALT supported the Transportation Emergency Rescue Committee (TERC) and is the sole supplier of electric and cordless power tools to the Education Center. DEWALT is the proud sponsor of the TERC and values the opportunity to interact with Rescuers throughout the world.

DEWALT was recognized recently for its outstanding contribution to the field of extrication with the introduction of its 24V Cordless reciprocating saw (DW008k) and the heavy duty AC/DC Converter (DW0247).

DEWALT tools are used at all the TERC Competitions in both the "Limited" and "Unlimited" Pits rescue scenerios. This partnership allows us to get our tools into the hands of the users and allows us to educate rescuers on the uses of our tools.

TERC was founded as an establishment of a centralized and coordinated board to develop rescue techniques and standards. TERC members teach workshops that bring the latest information on vehicle construction, safety concerns, hazards, and new technologies to the rescuers. The TERC provides the Education Center, which is a 47 foot van that transports rescue equipment and supplies to various regional competitions throughout the US.
