What is the DEWALT Million Dollar Challenge?
It's a skill contest to see who can drive 5 screws the fastest with a cordless drill.
How do I enter?
No purchase is necessary. Any legal resident 18 years or older can enter by simply filling out a registration form at one of the local events, or by logging on to www.DEWALT.com to register online.
What must I do to win?
Contestants must start the timer, pick up the drill, sink 5 screws flush into a board, and stop the timer as fast as they can. The contest runs tournament style so the top qualifier at each local event advances to one of 14 regional events held around the country. The top 14 regional winners advance to the final tournament, where the field is narrowed to one winner. To win the $1,000,000 grand prize, the winner has one chance to beat the clock.
What are the prizes?

- Each Regional Finalist gets:

Where is the contest being held?
Local qualifying contests take place at approximately 500 select home centers, tool distributors, job sites, NASCAR races and other special events in 100 cities throughout the U.S. and Canada. The regional semi-finals take place at 13 select Chevy dealerships in the U.S. and 1 in Canada.

When is the contest?
Local qualifying takes place through September 6th. The regional tournaments wrap up October 19th. The championship round is November 2 at the Phoenix International Raceway.

What type of drill, screws and wood are used?
DEWALT's contest kiosks are set up with DW983K-2 heavy-duty 14.4 volt XRP™ drills, coarse thread Grabber 1-5/8" drywall screws, and 2"x10" wooden boards.
Who won the contest last year?
Jon Smith, a contractor from Delaware, Ohio near Columbus drove five screws and beat the 7-second clock to win the million-dollar grand prize.
Can last year's Challenge winner compete again?
No, but all of last year's regional finalists are eligible to enter again.
How many people participated last year?
More than 50,000 people took the Challenge in 2002. DEWALT expects 100,000 people to enter in 2003.
Can I bring my family to the contest?
Yes. Spectators are encouraged at all events. In addition to the Challenge, DEWALT will have prize giveaways, a national sweepstakes, racing video games with EA Sports NASCAR Thunder 2003, Tough Man and Tough Woman contests, among other activities.
