DEWALT Launches Heavy-Duty 36V Circular Saw--Providing Professional Users With The Power Of Corded Without The Cord

– Featuring Full-Sized 7 ¼" Blade –
– Independent Testing Found the 36V Circular Saw Cuts 20 Percent Faster Than the Industry’s Leading Corded Circular Saws –

January 2006 – DEWALT, a leading manufacturer of industrial power tools, today announced the launch of its heavy-duty 36V 7-1/4" circular saw (DC300K). DEWALT engineered the DC300K with a 36V battery, providing professional users with increased levels of power, runtime and battery life, while maintaining a similar weight to corded and other 18V circular saws. The DC300K was built from the ground up with innovative features that increase the cutting capacity, ease of use, and durability of the tool. The DC300K provides professional contractors with the performance of a corded circular saw without the restriction of a power cord.

DEWALT designed the DC300K with a full-sized 7-1/4" blade. This feature provides users with increased cutting capacity at 90° and 45° , when compared to other cordless 5-3/8" or 6-1/2" circular saws. The DC300K is also equipped with a patent pending all-metal keyless blade clamp for quick and easy blade changes. For increased durability, the circular saw has a high-strength magnesium shoe and upper guard.

DEWALT engineered another productivity enhancing feature for circular saws on the DC300K, a 50 ° bevel capacity with lever action detents at 22.5° and 45° . This allows for aggressive bevel cuts, while enabling users to locate common angles quickly. For added comfort and control the DC300K has an anti-slip comfort grip.

Independent third-party testing evaluated the speed and runtime of the DC300K compared to the industry’s leading corded and cordless circular saws. When tested against other corded circular saws using 8 feet of 1/2 " OSB, the DC300K was able to cut through the material in 5.14 seconds, 20 percent faster than the Makita® 5007 and Skil® HD77 corded circular saws*. When testing the runtime of the tool, the DC300K cut an average of 224 feet of 1/2 " OSB and averaged 116 cross cuts of a 2"x10", two times the amount of the industry’s leading 18V saw**.

Available in the first half of 2006, the DC300K is designed with a high power, DEWALT built motor with electric brake, which is powerful enough to complete the most extreme applications. The DC300K is ideal for trim carpenters, electricians, plumbers and HVAC professionals, as well as for remodeling and framing jobs. It has the capability to cut through 2x material and plywood, as fast as the leading corded saws. Combined with two times the runtime compared to 18V, the DC300K brings new levels of productivity to the jobsite.
