Press Release
DEWALT LAUNCHES NEW 18V HAMMERDRILL/DRILL/DRIVER WITH NANO™ TECHNOLOGY – FAST, LIGHTWEIGHT TOOL IMPROVES PRODUCTIVITY ON JOBSITE

September 2007 – DEWALT, a leading manufacturer of industrial power tools, launches its heavy-duty 18V hammerdrill/drill/driver (DC927KL) with NANO™ Technology. NANO™ Technology is a proprietary technology from DEWALT that combines battery durability and longer cycle life, lighter weight, greater performance, and an expanded system of tool offerings. The DC927KL was built from the ground up with innovative features and delivers fast application speed, run-time and durability.

The 18V hammerdrill/drill/driver with NANO™ Technology features an exclusive battery that is designed with unique NANO™ Phosphate Lithium Ion cells that provide users with increased battery durability and cycle life, offering 2,000 recharges.* Additionally, the 18V NANO™ Technology battery works with over 40 tools in the DEWALT 18V platform.

The DC927KL is equipped with a DEWALT-built high-power, high-efficiency motor with an electric brake for maximum performance and has a power rating of 425 UWO**.

The DC927KL is designed with a patented three-speed, all-metal transmission that optimizes the speed applied to each application, offering professional end users maximum performance for various applications. For example, first speed is ideal for use with hole saws and self feed bits when drilling large holes in wood. Second speed is ideal for use with auger bits or screwdriving. Third speed is ideal for hammerdrilling into concrete. Additionally, the DC927KL is equipped with a ˝” self-tightening chuck, which enables the chuck to automatically tighten throughout operation. This provides the end user with more bit gripping torque than traditional keyless chucks.

DEWALT also designed the DC927KL with high levels of durability and reliability to withstand the most demanding applications and the most extreme jobsite environments. For added user comfort and control, the DC927KL has an anti-slip comfort grip on the handle.

The DC927KL also includes a heavy-duty 7.2V – 18V NiCd/NiMH/Li-Ion one-hour charger (DC9180). The battery charger is compatible with all DEWALT 7.2 – 18V NiCd, NiMH and NANO™ Phosphate Lithium Ion batteries, which means users only need one charger for multiple cordless products. Additionally, the charger is equipped with a three-stage charging system that provides maximum run-time and extends overall life of the battery.

* 2,000 Recharges is an average based upon a test of six units. ** Please see attached white paper overview on MAX Power (UWO) rating
