August 2007 -- DEWALT, a leading manufacturer of industrial power tools, launched its heavy-duty 28V reciprocating saw (DC315K) with NANO™ Technology. NANO™ Technology is a proprietary technology from DEWALT that combines maximum life, weight and performance in an ideal ergonomic package, helping to meet the needs of professional contractors. The DC315K provides users with the ability to step up to a more powerful and durable tool that weighs less than most 18V tools.

The DEWALT 28V reciprocating saw with NANO™ Technology features an exclusive battery that is designed with unique NANO™ Phosphate Lithium Ion cells that provide users with increased battery durability and cycle life, offering 2,000 recharges*. Additionally, independent third-party testing evaluated the run-time of the DC315K against other cordless reciprocating saws and found that the DC315K made an average of 41 cross cuts of a 2”x10” material. This is 1.6 times the amount of cuts made by an industry leading 18V saw**.

The DC315K is equipped with a DEWALT-built high-power, high-efficiency motor with an electric brake, providing enough power for tough jobsite applications. The DC315K also delivers 0-3,000 strokes per minute and a stroke length of 1-1/8”, allowing professional contractors to complete tasks quickly and move on to the next job.

DEWALT designed the DC315K with a patented four-position keyless blade clamp that enables users to insert the saw blade into two common vertical positions as well as two horizontal cutting positions for added versatility and convenience when flush cutting. With the blade in a horizontal position, users are able to cut close to floors, walls and ceilings, or where clearance is limited. This results in less bending and breaking of blades. The saw also has a three-position adjustable shoe that allows users to easily adjust the depth of cut for increased control and extended blade life. Weighing 8.0 lbs, the DC315K is lighter than other 28V, 24V and 18V saws on the market.
