August 2007 – DEWALT, a leading manufacturer of industrial power tools, announced the launch of its heavy-duty 28V jigsaw (DC318K) with NANO™ Technology. NANO™ Technology is a proprietary technology from DEWALT that combines maximum life, weight and performance in an ideal ergonomic package, helping to meet the jobsite needs of professional contractors.

The DEWALT 28V jigsaw with NANO™ Technology features an exclusive battery that is designed with unique NANO™ Phosphate Lithium Ion cells that provide users with increased battery durability and cycle life, offering 2,000 recharges*. Additionally, internal testing evaluated the run-time of the DC318K against an industry-leading 18V jigsaw and found that the DC318K cut an average of 56’ of 1” laminate particle board – almost two times the amount cut by a leading 18V saw**.

The DC318K is designed with a 1” stroke length and 0-2,700 spm with an electric brake, allowing for improved control and versatility in different materials and applications. For further control, a four-position orbital action feature provides users with the ability to control the aggressiveness of cut and speed.

DEWALT designed the DC318K with an all-metal lever action keyless blade clamp for quick and easy blade changes. Additionally, the DC318K has an all-metal keyless shoe with detents at 0, 15, 30, and 45, providing versatility for easy bevel cutting. An anti-slip comfort grip provides increased comfort and control for the user and an adjustable dust blower keeps the line of cut clear from debris, improving cut accuracy.
