August 2007 – DEWALT, a leading manufacturer of industrial power tools, announced the launch of its new 28V cut-off tool (DC413KL) with NANO™ Technology. NANO™ Technology is a proprietary technology from DEWALT that combines maximum life, weight and performance in an ideal ergonomic package, helping to meet the jobsite needs of professional contractors. Available in October 2007, the 28V cut-off tool with NANO™ Technology provides end users with increased levels of power and run-time to complete heavy-duty jobsite applications.
The DEWALT 28V cut-off tool with NANO™ Technology features an exclusive battery that is designed with unique NANO™ Phosphate Lithium Ion cells that provide users with increased battery durability and cycle life, offering 2,000 recharges*. Additionally, internal testing evaluated the run-time of the DC413KL against other cordless tools and found that the DC413KL made an average of 22 cuts per charge when cutting #3 rebar – almost two times the amount of the industry’s leading 18V cut-off tools**.
For increased performance, DEWALT designed the DC413KL with a low-speed, high-torque motor, which provides faster material removal for extreme cutting applications. Additionally, a durable jam-pot, low profile gear case provides precise gear alignment for a smoother, quieter transmission and easier access to tight work spaces.
A Quick-Change wheel release system allows users to easily remove wheels without using a wrench, and a keyless, adjustable guard enables users to quickly adjust the guard without having to use a tool, helping to increase productivity on the jobsite. Additionally, an oversized, protected spindle lock button promotes quicker wheel changes, reducing the amount of downtime when changing wheels. To prevent accidental startup, the DC415KL is equipped with a trigger switch with a lock-off system and an anti-slip comfort grip offers increased comfort and control.
Ideal for maintenance, repair, and metal cutting applications, the DC413KL has the ability to cut door hardware and locks, old anchors, tile, electrical cable and rusted fasteners. The DC413KL can also be used to finish ornamental and handrail welds, and prepare for several applications such as rail cable repair, remote cutting and welding, and mounting tabs.
