Wood Magazine Issue 131
WOOD Magazine put 7 12" compound miter saws to the
test in their March 2001 issue. The reviewers were impressed with DEWALT's easy
to adjust miter scale. They said that they "liked DEWALT's operation
best" and found the adjustment easy to set "anywhere on the scale with
one hand." They continued, "DEWALT gets the nod for its smooth gliding
turntable adjustment with no jerking or two-handled stabilizing
required." They also commented on the accuracy of DEWALT's Vernier
scale which allows the user to adjust to 1/4° accuracy. The reviewers were also
impressed with the blade provided with the DW705S. They said "Only DEWALT
Supplied a negative hook angle blade, which we prefer for this kind of
saw."
