DEWALT Jigsaws reviewed by Journal of Light Construction September 2000
DeWALT’s full line of jigsaws was recently reviewed in the Journal of Light Construction’s September 2000 issue. David Frane had positive notes on all of the reviewed models.
The author notes that the
DW321 was "the first jigsaw to come without an Allen wrench." He was pleased with the tool free bevel and blade change. He continues by adding, "I particularly like the design of the handle, which is in keeping with DeWALT’s emphasis on ergonomic design and is especially comfortable to grip."
Frane mentions that the features of the barrel grip
DW323 are very similar to the DW321. He draws attention to the switch, noting that it is on the bottom of the motor housing. He says, "You can reach it with the fingers of either hand… you almost never have to switch your grip to get at it." He concludes, "if you like barrel grip saws, this is the one you should try."
The author mentions the similarities of the DW321 and the cordless 18-volt
DW933. About run-time he says that he tried it himself and "managed to cut 80 feet of ¾" ply-wood before the battery ran out." Exceeding the claims that DeWALT had made of 50 feet. He adds that 80 feet is "the equivalent of 8 or 9 sink cut-outs."
