Q: I am building a 45-degree corner cabinet. I am trying to get the face frame (a 45 degree bevel angle) to match with the side of the cabinet, which is cut at a 90-degree angle. What is the easiest way to do this?
A: Fixture your DW682 on a flat surface (the secondary registration surface) using the 2 holes in the shoe to clamp the tool in place. For the 90-degree work piece, turn it upside down so that the finish surface is on the secondary registration surface and make your plunge cut. The mating 45-degree bevel work piece should be placed so that the sharp edge of the angle is positioned against the secondary registration surface and make your plunge cut. The result will produce a joint where the two finished surfaces will match.
